On today’s Art of War Battle Report, the brand new Banishers Grey Knights teleport in to face off against the brand new crusading Companions of Vehemence Black Templars!

As always, this competitive battle report is going to focus on the tactics and strategies employed by two of the best players in the world. How will these new Codexes fair against one another and what does it mean for the meta?

Richard's Grey Knights are led by Castellan Crowe, a Brotherhood Librarian with Sixty Sixth Seal, and 2x Grandmasters in Dreadknights, one of which has Sigil of the Hunt. Supported by a Strike Squad, 2x units of 4 Paladins, a unit of 8 Paladins, a unit of 10 Purifiers and 2x units of 5 Purifiers.

Jack's Black Templars are led by High Marshal Helbrecht, 2x Execrators, one with Merciless Denunciation, and 2x Judiciers, one with Incendiary Animus and one with Zealous Vanguard. Supported by 2x units of 5 Intercessors, 3x Impulsors, a Repulsor Executioner, 2x units of 5 Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs, 2x units of 6 Bladeguard Veterans, and 3x units of 5 Sword Brethern.

Today’s battle will be fought using the new Chapter Approved 2025-2026, Mission P, Scorched Earth Primary, Crucible of Battle Deployment on Games Workshop Layout #8.
